I am a Partner/Owner of Wellsfield Farm, a small family run business and regional visitor attraction located in Central Scotland. Please see our website: wellsfield.co.uk for more details. On Sunday 1st June 2014 I will have the honour of participating in a fantastic charity fundraising event named RIDE4PEACE. I will be cycling 600 miles from Glasgow to London as a Christian, in UNITY with 25 Muslims brothers in the name of PEACE. Ride for Peace is an endurance cycle event celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the United Kingdom. 25 Ahmadi Muslims and 1 Christian (me) will cycle 600 miles from Glasgow to London in seven days raising money for British Heart Foundation & Humanity First. During the ride the cyclists will visit 13 mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Community in Glasgow, Hartlepool, Bradford, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Feltham and London. The funds on my JustGiving page will firstly go to MKA (the community youth organisation), and then be split 50/50 to both charities (BHF and HF). A few years ago, my family were fortunate enough to make a connection with World Leader - His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifa-tul Masih V Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. His Holiness stayed at Wellsfield Farm Holiday Lodges during a visit to Scotland to promote his International Peace Campaign. We met His Holiness and his entourage of security and staff. Please see: https://alislam.org/khilafat/fifth/index.html Recently I kindly received an invitation (in the Name of God, Most Gracious, Ever Merciful) to attend a reception dinner for RIDE FOR PEACE on Saturday 31st May 2014 in the Bait Ur Rahman Mosque, Yorkhill, Glasgow, under the banner Love For All Hatred For None. His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifa-tul Masih V Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community sent the invite through his staff. I gratefully accepted and also asked if I could actually take part in this once in a lifetime event, as a Christian cycling with 25 Muslims in the name of PEACE. After much discussion with the superiors in Glasgow and London I am delighted that I will be going, and visiting or staying in 13 Mosques along the route. In October this year I will be 40 years old, and wanted to mark my 40th year on Earth with a memorable experience, and this is it! I am a baptised Christian, and I am also a 17th degree Freemason. I am also a member of the Holy Royal Arch of Jerusalem, and I am a Knight of the Temple of Jerusalem (a Knight Templar). I believe strongly in God - the one and only true God - the same God that all Christians and Muslims believe in. I also believe in all the Prophets that have lived on this Earth, including but not limited to Enoch, Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, just as our Muslim brothers and sisters believe in Jesus and Muhammad. You will see from the Wellsfield Farm Park logo that I designed, that it includes a rainbow, the universal symbol of Gods Peace and the Covenant. It also contains an Oak Tree symbolising a strong foundation, and the Tree of Life. The Children of the Future and Safe and Happy and Free. I hope the idea of a guy like me - a Christian cycling across the UK with 25 Muslims, all UNITED as one, RIDING FOR PEACE, to help others less fortunate in this world, is something that you will see as being true and good and inspiring for the future...
