Hi Everyone, ** THIS WILL BE MY FINAL POST ABOUT LASIK EYE SURGERY. ** If you follow the link attached to this post you will get all of the information from the Dr. Oz Show that never made it on to the television episode. I feel that investigative reporter @Elisabeth Leamy did a wonderful job with her investigation and that the show really botched it. Fortunately the results of her investigation are presented on the Dr. Oz Show website referenced here. There are also video clips that are worth watching as well. With the exception of Dr. Oz calling of the FDA to publish the results of their recent LASIK study, the rest of the show was pathetic. Dr. Oz even commented that glare, starbursts, and halos were caused by the corneal flap not healing perfectly. That was incorrect. The flap is not the source of the those problems. It is clear to me that Dr. Oz doesn’t even know about all the data that is presented on his website because he botched it so badly. The best part of the show was when the corneal flap on his model eye refused to stay closed because that is one thing that can happen during or after LASIK. As they say, Caveat Emptor! Thank you to all of the LASIK patient advocates that I have been privileged to work with over the years. Thank you to former FDA Ophthalmic Device Panel Chief Scientist Dr. Morris Waxler for coming out about the dangers of LASIK, and his efforts to have FDA approval revoked. Thank you Elisabeth Leamy for your investigative reporting on LASIK. And thank you to everyone who has put up with all of my annoying LASIK posts over the years. I am putting this one to bed.
