Hi Everyone Very very sad Chairman and Management Committee - TopicsExpress

Hi Everyone Very very sad Chairman and Management Committee this morning. For the first time in the 5 months since we took over we have to deliver what can only be described as very negative news. Immediately after Saturdays first team fixture against Wroxham reserves 2 first team players involved in the match took it on themselves to smoke weed openly on the Kings Head Meadow. This was done right in front of me and Assistant Manager Jason Edwards. I very wrongly as Chairman did not act immediately deciding to place it though the Director of Football Mark Brown to sort out with the Managers on his return on Wednesday. I know how let down all the managers who work so hard for the club felt as Mark had fed back to me. This is the correct procedure as set up in April at WTFC. Yesterday morning I received phone calls from other people who knew people I was unaware of at that end of KHM. The phone calls included potential sponsors and other that I could not ignore. Therefore the process had to be concluded and WTFC had to put its house in order sooner rather than later. The management committee fully support and comprehensively endorse the decision of Mark Brown Director of Football to remove both Individuals from Wymondham Town Football Club with immediate effect. The committee know the potential ramifications of taking such a stance especially as we are at the very very early stages of rebuilding the club both on and off the field. However the club operates a Zero drug tolerance policy. We are also trying top get the local Police to stop the drug problems that I have to clear up most mornings on the KHM. We want families to feel safe in the club and we want young men and women to play for the club and their parents to feel safe in the knowledge that we are a clean club. We sincerely hope that this sends out a clear message that WTFC management committee will take tough decisions and will not sweep things under the carpet as in the past. I apologise unreservedly to all Wymondham Residents, Supporters, Sponsors, Potential Sponsors and hope that we have the support of the community in the action that we have been forced to take. Everyone involved yesterday feels bitterly disapointed at being placed in the position where we had to take the action we had.
