Hi Everyone, heres are job opportunities with Cirque du Soleil in NYC that a former student let us know about. Read all the way down for all of the positions open! (From Stephen) a former student of mine contacted me because shes hiring for the Cirque du Solei show which is opening in NYC in April. Theres lot of jobs. Including a coordinater one for $20/hr (sounds like a stage manager type job) plus Costume Designers and Assts, etc. Thought youd be the best person to know if there are alums out there looking for work????? The contact is Jessica Gross. jessica.gross144@gmail Event Coordinator position, $20/hr - full-time position Will need to take pictures of all staff for badge making purposes and to provide final .jpegs to CDS. Responsible for remote daily management of onsite staff, refilling and back filling as required and main point of contact and escalation for Cirque Du Soleil. Will need to be present Tuesday – Sunday for onsite FOH check ins, ensuring that associates are checked in, sent to work on time, and finding back ups should that be needed. Daily tasks will include reviewing the end of night notes (sent from CDS) and performing the following: o Review PeopleNet to ensure accuracy of daily clock in/out punches o Note any strikes that may have been given due to performance or attendance o Updating the fill rate sheet based on attendance from previous day o Follow up on any Employee Relations issues as necessary Serve as a liaison between Cirque management, national account management and local Adecco teams. Responsible for all Employee relations issues including but not limited to: Counseling, Payroll, Time Keeping, Termination, and Worker’s Compensation. Escalate all issues/successes to National Account Ops Manager and the appropriate corporate departments in a timely manner. Manage all payroll, adjustment, and invoicing processes in Peoplenet and CM systems to ensure correct billing on a weekly basis. Responsible for “post mortem” with Cirque tour management at the close of each city, including gathering data needed for scorecard as well as local scorecard reviews. Conduct Scorecard review after each city with Cirque Managers. Part time Cirque opportunities: Costume Designer - laundry, costume maintenance and repairs, pre-show set up, dress performers, put away costumes, be able to do laundry and sew, previous theater experience is what they are looking for. Must be there 1 hr before show, at least 2 hrs after show Costume Day Prep - more set schedule, typically 9am - 6pm, costume maintenance and repairs, maintain costumes laundry, ironing, steaming, more set up of costumes than actually dressing artists. previous theatre experience what theyre looking for Box Office Clerk - good computer skills (MS Word/Excel), hand out tickets, resolve issues Ushers - Indoor ushers help escort people to seats, outdoor ushers help scan tickets when audience arrives Merchandising clerk - previous experience selling theater merch, or any of the Times Square attractions, a plus, greet customers and knowledgeable about Cirque Food and Beverage clerk - previous food handling experience VIP Host - good appearance, handling high end customers who paid $300+ for tickets, large companies and groups that come to view the show
