Hi Folks, Lived in Mt Isa from 1964 to 1981 at Southdowns Avenue - TopicsExpress

Hi Folks, Lived in Mt Isa from 1964 to 1981 at Southdowns Avenue then in flats/barracks. Went to Mineside, Happy Valley, the State High School, then a fitting and machining apprenticeship at MIM. Formed some great friendships that have endured for many years. Father (Dr Mac to most) passed away from mesothelioma over a dozen years ago in Bowen aged 76 years. Mother still alive and well (88yo) and living nearby in Gympie and married to Tony Morfee for over forty years. Siblings all alive and well too. Married Bronwyn at 44. No children of my own but many nieces and nephews, some now with their own children. Among my fondest memories walking the hills with the dogs and the chance to experience the local life shared with the Donovan family on and around the farm and horse events, for which I will be forever grateful. Now involved with various community groups and consulting in natural resource management. A specific interest in river erosion, especially works to reduce accelerated streambed lowering, which I consider an often overlooked and systemic problem.
