Hi Folks, Well, this is my first big storm here and it has been a real experience! My neighbor said it is the biggest in over a decade... I had a power outage for several hours, but it came back on so that is fantastic! The river is still rising, and my neighbors have begun moving their cars to higher ground. Luckily I am one of the highest spots here, so I should be good, unless the tide comes in or the rain starts up again. I am here alone, but prepared as well as I could. My lovely next door neighbor called me yesterday morning to tell me not to be afraid, I would most likely be safe even if we did flood a bit, and he brought me hot coffee and a warm breakfast because he knew I have bronchitis again and he didnt want me eating cold food. ( The power was out.) I am SOOooo lucky to have great neighbors!!! I am supposed to go into the theater for an hour or so soon, so I called around to make sure I could get there. It is only 1 mile away, but some places are flooded and my little Miata has no pontoons, so I had to make sure the coast was clear. So far so good.It IS my first rodeo, but all is well at this point.
