Hi, Following on from my previous posting concerning John and the writing of ‘Strawberry Fields’ and the boys’ reformatory Gladstone Hall, (in this map given the name Woolton Vale School), here John’s house is the top first right, as you can see the reformatory protrudes out onto the road, forcing pedestrians to walk past it’s front door, as mentioned before. Further evidence, discovered in the researching of my book, to suggest that the boys’ reformatory had an influence on ‘Strawberry Fields’ (Strawberry Field itself can be seen to the far left of the map) being that on 29 December 1965 there was a break out of the reformatory by a group of boys which was widely, and sensationally, reported in the local press. This piece of local news would, no doubt, eventually filter back to John who six months later began work on writing ‘Strawberry Fields’ Best wishes, Francis Kenny (Liverpool) (makingofjohnlennon)
