Hi Friends! We are continuing our discussion on stress-induced weight gain. If this post is lost on you, please refer to our posts from May 19th and 20th. How can traditional biofeedback help me? The state of coherence is so important in helping each of us maintain our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Borrowing from physics, when we are in a coherent state, virtually no energy is wasted because our systems are performing optimally and there is synchronization between the heart, respiratory system, blood-pressure rhythms, heart-rate variability patterns, etc. Among the many benefits of coherence are calmness, good energy levels, clear thinking and proper immune-system function. This practice of coherence has shown to clinically lower the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) that is linked to unwanted and difficult to remove belly fat. While there is a component of good nutrition and exercise that is vitally important…. science is proving that this is not enough. We need to address the stress component if we want to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Traditional biofeedback helps you to train your body into a state of coherence!
