Hi Gang, I just wanted to drop in and briefly address some slight changes to the way our giveaways will be held going forward. For as long as Ive ran contests (and oh there have been many LOL) I can usually count on about 40 percent of the winners not to respond or claim their prize. Which is why we not only announce winners in a FB page that readers may not see but we also like their comment/entry in the original contest thread so that they receive notification through their FB page. But we require for obvious reasons for the winners to email Casey with their mailing address so we can ship their prize to them because we certainly dont want my readers posting their private information to a public forum and we are very careful to respect the privacy of our readers by deleting their personal information as soon as prizes have been sent out etc. However, there is from time to time, a situation where a reader who wins doesnt receive their prize and we have no record of an email from them claiming it. And as its quite COMMON for us to receive no response from a percentage of winners of giveaways we host, its not unusual or unexpected. But I dont want this to happen to a reader who HAS taken the necessary steps to claim their prize and for whatever reason their email is never received or even snagged by the SPAM box (We always check here) So for FUTURE giveaways, Casey and I are implementing a checks and balances of sorts wherein when a reader emails Casey to provide mailing address and confirm their win Casey will then shoot them back a CONFIRMATION EMAIL simply saying I got it And this is just to let YOU know that we did receive your information and that your prize will be sent out and you havent been overlooked. So each time, from now on, when Casey announces winners of contests, shell ask not only for you to email her with your information, but also explain that she will then send you BACK a confirmation of receipt and if you DO NOT receive a confirmation from her then we did NOT receive your email and youll need to either email her again, post here on FB or email me directly at maya@mayabanks so I can make Casey aware of the situation. And if all of this sounds like a lot to take in, dont worry! Casey will be sure to explain all necessary steps each time she posts the winners of our weekly giveaways. All we need from YOU guys is that if you dont hear BACK from Casey after sending her your information to claim your prize is that you touch base with us and contact us. Otherwise we have no way of knowing that you ever claimed your win xoxo Maya
