Hi Gordon, I am going to reply to your comments in a new thread, - TopicsExpress

Hi Gordon, I am going to reply to your comments in a new thread, because Deans is about 70 posts long and a lot to scroll through and kind of off topic anyway. So here goes. I dont want an RCA so that I can sound like Clara, as much as I love her playing and artistry. I first fell in love with the RCA at Tom OHorgans house, or what I thought was an RCA (possibilities exist that it may have not been, but I am tracking that down), before I ever heard Clara play. What I love about the old tube theremins is the richness of sound, the overtones and depth. The quality of, is it a woman or a cello? I love my subscope but it is a very flutey sound, even if I add in the other colors, which is sometimes why I use a TM, even with a mongo bass amp. The RCAs have an indescribable quality that enchants me. Yes, Clara is going to sound like Clara, and I will sound like me. My prism is different, which is what makes it all so interesting. I am looking at Wavefronts in the meantime and Charlie Hobbs and Thierry are also building more string like sounding theremins that I am also looking at. I love the stringlike sound and I find no matter what the setting, the etherwave standard sounds like bees in a glass to me, even with Thierrys incredible module which improves it. The RCA is just a sound that sings to me.
