Hi Guys, I plan on doing lots of fund raising events and challenges this year to help a beautiful young girl called Megan Simpson. Megan lives in W-s-M with her mum and two younger siblings. She suffers with Rett syndrome which is a rare neurological disorder affecting mainly females and very few males. Although present at birth, the syndrome usually goes undetected until major regression occurs at around one year of age. The child will lose skills they have learnt this can be accompanied by distress and anxiety. People with Rett Syndrome have profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities and are totally reliant on others for support throughout their lives. Megan was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome just before her 2nd birthday. Megan regressed at an early age, loosing some of the skills she had learnt. Megan is now 10 years old and is an extremely happy, sociable little girl. Although Megan is unable to walk or talk, she lets everyone around her know what she is thinking by using her beautiful big blue eyes! She is learning to use a speaking board at school and although its early days the plan is to be able buy her one to use full time one day. At £20,000 her family need lots of help to achieve this.
