Hi Guys: The response to our club has been tremendous! It shows how eager we all are to cycle, set and meet goals, get in better shape and be in the company of like-minded people! You are truly a great group of people! We discover so much by just riding alongside each other! We look forward to having you join us, if you haven’t yet done so. J We certainly do not want to discourage anyone who wants to cycle with us on Saturdays and Sundays, however, we recommend that you get some miles in during the week, on your own or with us, (we ride on Tuesdays & Thursdays- 6:30pm sharp -see attached). In order to progress as a group, we need to commit the time and effort necessary to do so. HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!!J Upcoming Events: Saturday September 7th 2013- 7:30am-The NPCA Team Relay Time Trials Championships & Team Time Trial Championship at Clifton Pier Heritage Park, parking lot next to Jaws Beach. **NEW EVENT**Saturday September 14th 2013 - The Give a Child a Ride Cycling Ride by British Colonial Hilton Pompey Square, downtown Nassau giveachildaride **NEW EVENT**Saturday September 21st 2013 - 1st Potcake Man Triathlon - Jaws Beach, New Providence BaarkBahamas.org Saturday October 26th, 2013 - Ride for Hope (Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera) – (rideforhopebahamas) Saturday November 2nd , 2013 - Conchman Triathlon (Grand Bahama) - conchman/ Sunday November 3rd, 2013- UWC Triathlon Clifton Heritage Park, Nassau - uwctriathlon/ Tuesday & Thursday 3rd & 5th September @15 miles Leaving 6:30pm Sharp from Sea Grape’s Shopping Centre-Prince Charles (assemble underneath tall sign post) Training Laps – practising speed, riding techniques, hill climbing, building strength & riding with a group. @1 1/2 hour duration Saturday 7th September 30 miles Leaving 6:00am Sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of CIBC Paradise Island Bridges for first timers!! In order to complete this ride it is recommended that you have done some recent cycling! **P/I Bridges ALSO optional at the end!!! The pace will range from 15mph – 20+mph @2 – 3 hour duration Sunday 8th September 40 - 50 miles Leaving 6:00am Sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of CIBC This ride is not recommended if you have not cycled for a while; or first timers! **P/I Bridges optional at the end!!! The pace will range from 15mph – 20+mph, @3 - 3 1/2 hour duration Enjoy!Cycling Club Bahamas does not endorse cycling solo! **We will ride in light rain. The Ride will be cancelled in medium to heavy rain or lightening. Basic Rules for all rides 1. You must wear a helmet. 2. Bike should be roadworthy and inspected before the ride. 3. Allow yourself a few minutes to get organized before the ride (if you need to prepare in any way) – rides should leave @ 6:00am/6:30pm promptly. 4. Bring your water (at least 2 bottles). 5.
