Hi Holly’s Heroes teammates! Thank you so much for supporting - TopicsExpress

Hi Holly’s Heroes teammates! Thank you so much for supporting Brain Cancer Research and backing this team of medical and research professionals at the Ivy Center here in Seattle. Whether I see you or feel you (that’s for you “virtual walkers”) tomorrow, please know how much I am touched that you care. This journey that began 27 months ago used to have mostly sucky parts with some dashes of awesome parts, because even though the fear, angst, dread and uncertainty were top of mind (not to mention the massive headwound, radiation, and chemo), it was constantly uplifting to see how my friends, family, and their friends and acquaintances rallied around me and mine to show the love. The farther out I get from the diagnosis and physical effects of the treatment, it’s become mostly awesome with fewer and fewer sucky parts. The angst, uncertainty, and fear of recurrence make regular appearances, but for the most part I’m living well and finding the joy. I’m working hard as a mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister, and employee. I’ve had several opportunities to publicly speak on behalf of brain cancer survivors in order to raise awareness and appreciate the great fortune I’ve encountered, primarily due to the services of Dr. Greg Foltz and his team at the Ivy Center. That support and gratitude will continue now that I’m under the care of Dr. Foltz’s handpicked successor, Dr. Charles Cobbs. I’m reminded almost daily of the challenges faced by those I know continuing to battle active/progressing brain tumors and brain cancer. This fundraising effort is for them and those yet to be told “You have a brain tumor.” Let’s continue to expect quicker diagnosis, widespread access to tumor preservation following resection, increased life expectancy, and better quality of life during treatment for those with brain tumors. Your dollars will be spent well. I know it. Though I know these words are inadequate, thank you. See you at the game - Go Huskies! Sincerely, Holly Link to donate (if you want to share this): community.swedish.org/page.aspx?pid=313&tab=0&frtid=1287 or https://community.swedish.org/hollyzimmerman
