Hi, I am Gino Matteo and I am todays guest writer... I figure Id share how I first became aware of Quilter Amps. For years and years, Id wrestled with back line amps on tour and crazy heavy amps at home. I first heard of Quilter by seeing Nathan James and James Harman talk about them and playing through my good friend Brian Kaminskas amp. Id been posting on Facebook about my problems with which amps to request for back line on European tours. James Harman was nice enough to write me and sing the praises of Quilter. Then he wrote to Chris at Quilter and introduced me. Virtually the next day, I went out to Costa Mesa to check out the amps with Chris. I spent most of the afternoon at the Quilter shop and had so much fun meeting the awesome family that Quilter is. By the time I went to the shop, I was already so sold on Quilter that Id decided to sell one of my most prized possessions to get a Quilter amp. That same day, Johnny Vatos came and met me at the shop so I could sell him my main working amp which was a Musicman RD112 that I got a long long time ago. I always said Id never sell that amp. It had intense sentimental value to me. It was used in Michael Jacksons band. Being a MASSIVE MJ fanatic, selling this amp was completely out of the question but I needed the money to get a Quilter. I was that sold on this company. Especially after spending the day with the family. I wanted to be part of this group of players so badly. I loved the amps IMMEDIATELY. That day I bought a Micropro 8 and shortly after that, a Micropro 12, both of which I Q-Top all the time. Shortly after that, I got a Tone Block then I got a Steelaire Rackmount. I am completely set for life as far as amps go. My wife Jade joked earlier when I showed her the video of Chris asking for stories that her story was that my husband doesnt scour the world for amps anymore. haha On a personal note, Chris has become family to mine. Quilter is so much a part of my career, its crazy. The world needs more people like Chris Parks and Pat and the whole Quilter family. When you spend the day at the shop, you can tell these people are family. The Quilter owners are family too. Family is the biggest word that comes to mind when I think of Quilter…. Im proud to be in the Quilter family and I thank God for it every time I get onstage and my sound is what I want it to be. P.S….. I dont miss ANY of my amps. Writing this is literally the first time I thought about that Musicman amp since I sold it to Johnny. I sold ALL my amps but one that I keep for sentimental reasons even more so than the Musicman. Love to you all. Peace and good karma.
