Hi! I need advice about animals rights. My boyfriend just called me (we are both vegan and went vegan because of the cruelty) & he started giving me situations & asking what I think should be done. I would greatly appreciate if you could give me your input as I am stumped on some of them. Here are his questions -- 1. What should you do if a lion or bear or wild animal is in a neighborhood and very close to people & seems aggressive to some ppl? --reason he asked this is because bears have been spotted in Woodbury MN and they have shot some. 2. What if an animal in the wild who seems mentally ill is attacking other animals of its kind and killing them? --reason he asked is because he saw a post of someone who paid thousands of dollars to kill this rhino who was harming other rhinos 3. What about hunting for population ? 4. What about people who have to hunt in Alaska to survive ? 5. Do you think animals should have rights ? I answered yes obviously they should not be used for food, harmed in any way, used for entertainment or clothing or to be tested on. He then asks , the same as human rights ? Because I dont think animals should have rights. They dont know right from wrong. An animal wouldnt know its wrong to hurt a person or destroy a property & if they do would they be punished like humans ? Thrown in jail? No. And if animals had rights for the food industry what about the people who need to hunt to survive ? Would they go to jail ? So he thinks animals should not have civil rights like us. Can you please help me out with these questions ?!
