Hi I would like to ask a question, has anyone had experience getting a pension for a relative who died in World War 2 or died later as a result what happened to them from the war. I am in the process of getting copia del foglio matricolare from the Military office in Catania, Sicily. My father died in 1948 from malaria which he probably contracted while serving in Africa.My mother tried to get a pension when we came to America but to no avail, she did not have all the documents she told me. My sister got in contact with some guy in Brooklyn, a travel agent , who said he deals with these issues but nothing came from it. Once I get the documents I will get in touch with the Italian Embassy in Chicago. Now that my mother has passed away I have more freedom to pursue this matter since she was too proud to spend much time dealing with the Italian government. Some of you will understand what I mean, or maybe everybody will. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
