Hi, Im Christine & this is my daughter Emo (samoan, pronounced Em-oh). Emo is 9 months old and has suffered a LBPI birth injury where 4 out of her 5 nerves were completely torn from her spine. She has already undergone a 72 hour cooling bed treatment at birth in the NICU (for the loss of oxygen-she was born not breathing) as well as a nerve graph surgery for her BPI at 4 months old & recently, a Botox treatment in her BPI shoulder where she wore an upper body cast for 30 days (the cast just came off this past Wednesday & we are so grateful!). She has also suffered other injuries related to her BPI/delivery such as a torticollis injury in her neck & hearing loss in her left ear. She has been through so much & is such an inspiration to me & our family already in her short life so far. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this awareness group & we are very grateful to share our story & learn from others experiences. Here is a pic of baby Emo in her pink Botox cast.
