Hi. Im JoEllen, Dustys favorite (and only) daughter. For as long as I can remember, probably even before then, my dad has been speaking into my life. Showing me how to live, how to serve. It wasnt until I became a mother that I realized how important his teachings were in my life. When my son was three years old (he is now 4.5), we were driving home from school when he told me was was bad, that he had a bad heart and no friends. This came after a string of incident reports, extreme anger and frustration from his dad and me when I finally turned around at a red light and commanded his identity come forward. I told him who he was, who he was created to be, who his example is and for the first time in months, maybe close to a year, he came back, right there, instantly. I told him he was just like Jesus, that He was the firstborn, He showed us a pattern for how to live. From that moment on, he and I were never the same. He recognizes Jesus in people he sees and meets. He might tell you something you didnt know about yourself. He might tell you how many children you have without ever having met them, but more than that, he will show you Jesus as a reflection of yourself. I have written our entire story for him, for others, for future generations, its available at dustyfarrell, titled Ethans Story.
