Hi! Im a member here because my daughter suffered a hemorrhage of an AVM in her Right temporal lobe when she was 8 years old. Before this we had no idea she even had it. She spent 2 weeks in PICU with a drain in. Because of the location and make-up of her AVM, we flew to Phoenix 3 months later to have it resected via craniotomy. During surgery she suffered a stroke and woke up with complete left sided paralysis. We were able to fly home to Indianapolis 2 weeks later and spent 4 more weeks at Riley Childrens hospital for inpatient rehabilitation. My daughter is nearly 12 yrs old now. She still has significant weakness on her left side, as well as chronic headaches. BUT...she is alive and thriving! Shes learned to ride a bike and hopes toke the cross country team at her middle school. You guys....this kid is incredible. Her strength and determination inspire me every day.
