Hi Its Friday, which is always a good thing! And for much - TopicsExpress

Hi Its Friday, which is always a good thing! And for much of England and Wales once the bands of rain and showers clear through to the south east this evening the weekend is looking pretty good, some showers for western areas but otherwise dry with decent bright spells. Watch out for some of the showers being heavy, with a chance of thunder before they finally clear. Further north and its been a bright, chilly start, but some heavy, thundery and blustery showers will continue for western Scotland and may reach N Ireland at times too. Itll be a windy day for the north west of Scotland too, with gusts up to 40mph. Away from this rain there will be some decent sunny spells today, but it will feel quite fresh in a brisk southwesterly breeze. Tonight, the frequent blustery showers will continue to affect north western areas, on an increasingly strong wind, further south itll be a much cooler night than last night as the cloud breaks in places. Into the weekend and as I said, apart for some showers for western areas, much of England and Wales will enjoy a dry weekend, with mild temperatures and sunny spells. Its the north, in particular north west of the UK that will see some some strong winds and heavy rain at times. N Ireland and the west & north of Scotland will feel the worst of the winds, with gusts of up to 60mph on Saturday, easing a little on Sunday but also spreading into the north west of England, along with the heavy showers and rain at times.
