Hi. Ive had my Safecob Jem for just short of 3 years and Ive been watching the debate unfold on both sides. I hope my contribution will be viewed as neutral & points made simply as things to think about. Ive read through the Sales Website several times and I cant see anything which mentions any sort of sales after care as being part of the purchase. I agree that there is an inference that training will be over a longish period of time but I cant see any actual timeframe stated. With regard to the actual training given, it is a fact that on the videos we see the horses being ridden in traffic, going through mud/water and traversing different gradients & often in open spaces. We see them being tied, tacked, mounted, hosed off and often being ridden by people with different skill levels. In this respect it is as advertised. It is a fact that Lia repeatedly says the horses are assessed without regard to their prior history and her assessments are based only on their behaviour whilst under her care. If we are REALLY honest with ourselves, how many of us make assumptions from the Sales website, the facebook page, the videos and on arriving to try and/or buy feel that our questions have been answered by what we feel we already know? If we dont ask direct questions at the point of sale we cannot be given any sort of answers can we? Morals & ethics are all very well but these are an emotive subject and mean different things to different people. The reality is that The Cob company is a Horse dealership there to provide a livelihood. It is very very easy to be drawn off at a tangent. Looking at some of the posts here and without predjudice, do all of these posts match the stated aims of this group? Finally, out of interest what is the purpose of trying to locate horses & owners who have bought from Lia please?
