Hi! I’m Parker Brooks and I am 1 month old. I weigh 13.5 pounds (gained 3.5 since I was born), and I’m almost 24 inches tall (I grew 2.5 inches too). I really haven’t slept much this past month, and neither have my mom and dad. I really don’t cry a lot. I just like to stay awake and observe, but only if my mom or dad is with me. I get scared by myself, unless I’m in my floormat gym. I really like that thing. I get really hungry every 1.5 to 3 hours and I eat for about an hour, sometimes longer. My doctor says that’s OK because I’m a BIG boy. I like to nurse with my mama for a half hour and then, if dad’s home from work, I eat about 4 ounces of formula with him to top it off. Mom can serve a mean bottle too, but I’m really a daddy’s boy. I’m really working on holding my head up and bouncing up and down while mom holds me up. I like to workout my muscles, because I want to be tough like my dad. I also like to talk A LOT. I think I get that from my mom. She even talks back to me. I have no idea what she’s saying, but I think she doesn’t understand me either. Maybe one day we’ll speak the same language. The other day, while dad was holding me, mom gave me kisses and that made me laugh. You would’ve thought I solved world peace, because the two of them were so happy to hear me laugh and see my smile. Now I try to laugh every day, because they get such a kick out of it. We haven’t really gone out much since I was born, because the doctor says it’s flu season and I’m too little to risk getting sick. She said that I can start going places when I’m one month old, so it looks like I’m gonna start discovering the world. I can’t wait to see everything! Well, I think that’s about it. Gotta go now. I have to go pretend to sleep for fifteen minutes, and then pretend to get fussy until my mom comes in to pick me up, and then I stop right away. It’s my favorite game!
