Hi Jason, I was wondering if you could ask people for their opinion on the Big Issue man that stands outside Sainsburys and sometimes Coopers Square? The reason I ask is that I am starting to dislike him more and more, to the point where I actually hate walking past him. Now before anybody starts making comments about me being uncharitable, I do give money to charities and I dont mind helping them out. I have even, on occasions, bought the big issue for the sake of giving to charity, even though Im not bothered about reading it. So what is my problem with him?, I hear you ask. Well let me put it this way, Sainsburys is probably our highest class of supermarket, so when I visit there I dont expect to be met at the front door by a man who jumps out in front of me, dressed in a half-arsed santa claus outfit, doing a little dance while gibbering on about something and scaring my child. If I wanted this kind of experience, Id do my shopping on Uxbridge Street, where there are enough druggies carrying out the same activity without asking if you want to buy a magazine. Of course, I could do my shopping elsewhere. Tesco, Morrisons, and Asda all offer much of the same stuff. However, I have always like going to Sainsburys, theres something about it that makes it slightly more pleasurable than shopping elsewhere. But this man outside is putting me off so much that I have even resorted to driving all the way to Sainsburys in Swadlincote to do my weekly shop. There was once a time when the Big Issue sellers were hard up homeless people who would quietly offer their magazine without thrusting themselves in your face. Now the job seems to have been given to a career clown who enjoys getting in my way. So goodbye annoying big issue man, and goodbye Burton Sainsburys, Im off to Swadlincote to do my shopping from now on.
