Hi Lynn Wall , Welcome !! So glad to have you on board. You can make and donate whenever you like, no time limit as this will be ongoing. It can be just one item or several totally up to you. It doesnt have to be limited to just hats, it can be anything you would like to make ie: hats, blankets, baby clothing, crochet/knitted toys, booties, mittens etc etc. they will all be very gratefully received. Not all of our members crochet or knit, some sew - so anything you can contribute would be wonderful, just whatever your area of expertise is! Heartkids mainly need babies sizes: preemies, newborn, upwards.. any childrens size hats that are donated will also be very gratefully received as they have older children on the heart ward also. Any that they receive that they cant use immediately will be shared amongst other wards, so every item will be very much appreciated. For the older kids on the ward, its been suggested that fingerless gloves, bed slippers/socks or fun items would cheer them up in a big way!! I have now added a USEFUL LINKS RESOURCES page to the Group page. You will find it at the top of the page and it has lots of great links to resources for members looking for some information or assistance. You can also access this page from Files at top of Timeline, you will find lots of great information in this section. If you would like anything added to this list PLEASE let me know as I am trying to put as much information in there as members need. You will find this group an extremely friendly and fun group to be in, everyone loves seeing each others contributions, so please add any suggestions or links you like at any time. What I plan on doing is posting a photo of my hats and other items when Im sending them. Many of the members are posting up photos and we all love seeing everyones work. We would love to see yours also so please post up a photo when you have anything to share. I am keeping an album of all these photos so we can see how much has been donated. I feel so good about doing this, I just wish I had the time to do it long ago! My grandson is a HeartKid, hes now 11 and had his first open heart surgery at only 8 weeks of age!! His condition is not curable at this point in time, and he has had a lot of open heart surgery and other procedures at the Royal Childrens Hospital, the work they do is amazing, and families have to come from all over Australia and overseas to have their babies/children operated and cared for there.
