Hi MHJC! As netball manager at our school I would like to share - TopicsExpress

Hi MHJC! As netball manager at our school I would like to share with you the amazing results our netballers have achieved this evening at finals. We are super proud of every single one of our netballers and coaches - and offer our thanks to the many people who came to watch and who were vocal and brilliantly supportive on the sideline. What a spectacular end to a wonderful season! Firstly, congratulations go to Miss Baker, Ms Simpson and the MHJC 9/10 B team, who took a last minute one goal victory over Pakuranga College Senior 2 in their playoff for third place in their grade, winning 18-17. MVP for this match was Kahurangi Mason-Wells (8C1) who has played some awesome netball this season and deserves this - her third MVP award of 2014! Well done, Kahurangi. This team have gone from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing these girls in our netball programme again next year. Well done B Team on an awesome season of development and successes! Final result - 3rd place in Pearls grade. (MHJC B TEAM 2014: Taegan Singh (captain), Kelsea Cress (vice-captain), Harsita Patel, Kahurangi Mason-Wells, Jesse Tuhaka, Cee Fitton, Oanh Le, Daphne Ribac-Manubay & Kangna Dy) Our MHJC 9/10 A Team played Edgewater College Y10. EC10 have beaten our girls twice out of the three games they played before the finals - but only by 1-2 goals each time. Our girls knew they had a fight on their hands, especially when the match was drawn 18-18 at full time. We went into extra time knowing that the winning team would be the team who managed to get two goals ahead. Thanks to some stunning shooting, and remarkable grace under pressure from Nikaylyn Aguilar (8M1) MHJC A won this match 20-18 in extra time. After a match like that coach Ms Shields awarded every girl in the 11 player team MVP for this match. Well done girls - what a thrilling nailbiter to end your season! Final result - FIRST in Opals grade. (MHJC A TEAM 2014: Adrienne Champion (captain), Courtney Powell (vice-captain), Nikaylyn Aguilar, Annika Maritz, Chanel van Deventer, Shelby van Deventer, Rabeya Wasiullah, Preyashi Deo, Tavai Mason-Wells, Ayesha Ali & Rylee Fraser) Saving our most incredible result for last, we have to offer a huge congratulations to our talented and dedicated MHJC Premier Netball Team and their coach Lou Culley. Pakuranga Senior College 1, who were their opponents in the final, are the only team this year to beat our Prems (earlier in the season) and tackling them is always a challenge. MHJC shot out to an early lead, taking the first quarter 12-1. All players who were at the match today made it onto the court to take part in a massive 35-17 win to take out both the final and the overall championship. MVP was Jazmin Stevens-Apaipora (8M1) who had a great game against much older girls. Well done, Jazmin. Final result - FIRST in Sapphires grade. TOP Y10 team overall. TOP team in the entire tournament. MHJC PREMIER NETBALL 2014: Lasalle Lefale (captain), Viona Silao (vice-captain), Manasseh Gray, Jazmin Stevens-Apaipora, Ngapipi Herewini, Katelyn Knox, Briana Baker, Lafi Tua, Tyla Grant, Chontelle Vaevae & Lita Penitani) STAFF: Miss Baker (B), Ms Simpson (B), Ms Shields (A), Lou Culley (Prems) & Ms Wigg (Manager) Thanks to everyone involved! Our focus now shifts to our Y7/8 girls, and their upcoming AIMS tournament in Tauranga :) Ms Wigg
