Hi MUBES-ers. Yall might laugh at this, but whatever. So, Im quite new to science in general (as in, I hadnt had much exposure to it since starting B-Sci in 2013) - and with that comes being new to the various ethical challenges of the field and actually giving them consideration beyond a fleeting maybe-Ill-join-the-opinion-of-the-masses thought. Im talking about topics like human genetic engineering, the extension of human life vs quality of life, scientific communication, organ growth and/or transplantation, fetal research etc. Now it seems probable that most of you have already given these things much thought and know exactly where you stand. But discussion and debate can be interesting nonetheless, and so I suppose Im quietly flagging an idea that we held an evening once or twice a semester where we (and other people in related fields) get together armed with some articles, eat pizza, down some beers, and discuss a chosen issue. So yep. Just an idea.
