Hi Music, hope you dont mind me posting/ cross-posting if youre in other groups! Sorry this is a bit of a rant... basically, I’m really unhappy with the NUS. To explain: every year we elect 5 students to represent us at their annual conference. If you’re elected you get to go free, but if you want to observe you have to pay £300! Which if you’re a small Uni/College you couldnt afford. The conference goes on til 9pm- so, for example if you had kids to pick up at 3.30pm- you probably couldn’t go. It’s massively unfair and there’s loads of other problems too. I’m running to go to conference cos I want to put forward a motion to make NUS more accessible. I can’t do that if I’m not elected.
