Hi Patient Wall & Friends! Ive been lurking while I get thru the diagnosis phase, not sure we know everything, but wanted to share here in case other folks are going through a similar trial. It started with pain in my lower spine, making it painful & impossible to stand or walk for longer than a 2-3 minutes. After several months of tests & exams, I have been diagnosed with shingles internally, found on my cervix and we believe it to be active in my lower spine. Valacyclovir got me up & walking in just a few days. I am on an RSO protocol, and waiting for my insurance company to approve the anti-viral I will need to be on for the rest of my life since the shingles keep coming back as soon as Im off the med. Am unable to walk again after being off the med for just a few days. The RSO helps with the insane creepy crawly pain I have that travels all over my nervous system. I am only a month into the protocol, but I hope to kill this virus. My sister also has issues due to the zoster virus, my larger hope is that if I can kill it in me that she will be willing to try it and get off the prednisone she is always being prescribed just to function. My full list of issues for which I use cannabis to manage and have a quality of life that allows me to participate in daily living: Periformis syndrome, shingles, PTSD and anxiety, gluten & corn product allergies (its in everything, even the meds!) I am a mother, a writer, an artist, an activist, and cannabis keeps me healthy and able to work! I live in Washington, where cannabis is ostensibly legal, but due to financial barriers, a grower friend donates a portion of his harvest to my RSO needs. Thanks to everyone building this wall, and sharing their stories, I hope to see the end of prohibition soon!
