Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing this. I like the remarks about government investment in arms. Surely if these peace initiatives were resourced at similar levels to defense and spying....well we probably wouldnt need investment in defense or spying. I sometimes wonder how often the military is led by the government and how often government is led by military. By their very nature peace organisations are weak because they do not strive for domination which is a trait encouraged and trained into the military. For example in the current issue of spying with Indonesia. One wonders how much of the government statements are truly how the government feels or responses devised by the espionage organisations to justify their actions. Some interesting comments by Abdulah Mahmud Hendropriyono in the SMH Friday indicates there is little morality in the upper levels of International relations. Alexander Downers call today for a Code of Conduct for espionage organisations is interesting. It may be an Oxymoron. Its a fascinating story....
