Hi Paul. The events of today (yesterday to most now) have had many of us thinking. While most of us are very disappointed Mossie decided to leave, I think it’s clear that your actions were fair, measured and understandable, at least in the short term, to deal with a situation, and as you say ‘to take stock.’ Sometimes that is necessary and this is a difficult situation for the whole group. Mossie’s decision to leave was his and his alone. Whatever the right or wrong of it, it’s unfortunate. I hope I speak for the whole group and ask you though to consider reinstating the remaining admins fairly quickly. I think we all want this. Bodojo has benefitted greatly from the role of the admins. They drive the debate, keep it moving beyond “here’s a new member and here’s a new drum.” This group will always have a bit of attitude to it. It started out of a fight 18 months ago – you started the fb group, brought the admins on and then dozens of us moved across and joined within hours in support of what was happening and the reasons for it. It’s a community with spirit, honesty and integrity. Sometimes it boils over and this recent situation we could all do without. But please don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. The Bodhran group is still thriving in no small part to the expanded role of admins and their participation. And that’s a good thing, there’s plenty of room for both groups as well as the others. They all have their own character and vibe and theres room for all the groups and for multi-membership of them. Bodojo is probably the feistiest, that’s no surprise, but nor is it a bad thing. Please don’t lose the wonderful soul that this group has – the admins and the roles they play are absolutely vital to it. I know you will consider this request rationally over the next few days – you are highly respected by all of us in the group – but please do consider it. This group is unique because of its members and we all want what is best for it. Thank you.
