Hi Psychology Friends! Krista Dowhos and I have teamed up with Lauren Diane and Craig Cavanagh to create a Medical and Health Research (MAHR) Interest Group at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. The idea is to provide information as to how to balance research and academic pursuits, increase awareness of the contemporary medical and health research that is currently being conducted, establish contacts within the community with individuals who have worked in research settings, and to provide members with information and resources about medical research including research opportunities, conferences and seminars. The group is open to all Lakehead students! If you’re interested in being part of the MAHR group or have any questions please message me. We are hoping to have all of our members signed up by Tuesday - however well still accept new members after this date. Our first General Meeting will be on Thursday, October 9th at 4:00 pm and our first event is on Wednesday, November 12th at 4:00 pm, at which NOSMs Associate Dean of Research will be giving a talk about the various research opportunities at NOSM and how students can get involved.
