Hi There, I would like to give a big shoutout and also maybe promote a charity fundraiser we are holding at the same time. The charity is the Run for the Cure in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. A friend and I participate here in Edmonton every year. Last year we held a Comedy for a Cause fundraiser at the Comic Strip at West Edmonton Mall, which was a success, so we are planning another this year. The event this year will take place on Thursday, September 25. Showtime is 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20. All tickets purchased through us, support the Run for the Cure. In addition, we will be holding a 50/50 draw at the event, along with raffles and we will have some items for silent auction. We do not know who the headliner is yet, however speaking from experience (I attend a lot of comedy events) even the least funny headliners are still really funny. If you wish to purchase tickets, you can post here and I can provide my email address, so we can make arrangements. Only tickets purchased directly from us, support the run. You could buy tickets at the door or club directly and participate still in the raffles etc, but money from the tickets sold at the club stays with the club. The shout out, is to the Comic Strip (Bourbon Street, West Edmonton Mall). They are fantastic! They regularly hold fundraising events, and are quite generous. They provide the first 25 tickets at no charge. Then tickets after that, are split between them and the charity. They do not have a minimum # of tickets that need to be sold like some other places. You tell them how many you want, then you sell. If you need more, they will give you more. They are super friendly, and last year they were so helpful in promoting our raffle and silent auction items. I have also attended shows on regular nights there, and have always been happy with service and everything. A night out here is always fun, and generally in-expensive. Bravo Comic Strip!
