Hi #Vegastech! My names David. Some of you know me, and many, especially new faces, dont. I moved Downtown just over a year ago to help build the local community (whatever that might have ended up looking like), and build openfire, a crowdfunding platform for tech-based social good projects. It didnt work out, but my how time flies! Ive lived in DTLV over a year now, watched this community grow and change almost from bud to blossom to flower... and experienced so many crazy awesome moments: $1PBR-fueled massive Jellies spilling into the early DTPodcasts, SXSW w/ #Vegastech, crowdfunding to Save the Huntridge, multiple awesome StartupWeekends, plus #startupblock!...jam sessions & barter swaps at the Pit and pool parties at the Manor -- I could go on forever! Plus, the bay already has multiple successful local currencies (not at scale, but thats another matter). So, from the beginning, DTLV has been my #1 choice to help our first users find new ways to engage with others in their community. But Ill be honest -- I dont have the money to self-fund this pilot project, even with the incredibly compressed timeline were looking at (we built the current prototype [ cclv.meteor ] over the last
