Hi Warm showers. My name is Jungmi from Korea. I am leading ‘Project Tinker’ in the UK. ‘Project Tinker’ is to travel by bike and to live without money for 1 year in the UK, and it would be my alternative British journey to explore a lot of different ways of living in the UK. I’m writing to introduce Warm showers about this project and to ask for your support with this project. First, I’ll explain about Project Tinker. WHAT TO DO: -To live well and to travel without money for 1year (October 2014-Octobr 2015). -To learn new skills to do everything myself and to become more useful. -To meet people who are leading their own alternative lives. WHY TO DO: To prove that; -We’re all useful because even I’m useful. -We can make the most of life even if we have no money. -We can be free by doing everything ourselves. -We can be happier if we find our own alternative lives. HOW TO DO: 1. Never get money and Never use it 2. Only cycle (ex from Cornwall to Scotland) 3. Borrow or make all the items that I need. 4. Pass on what I get for free to another traveler at the end of my journey. 5. Be self-sufficient in my energy needs. 6. Learn as much as possible and develop my skills in self sufficiency. 7. Travel as much as possible to meet inspiring people. 8. Record everyday life with a wearable camcorder. 9. Share my experience with people by making a documentary film and a book. 10. Take what I learn from this experience and implement it for my alternative life. It would be the first step to living free from money and possessions, the fastest way to do what I want, and the important way to know how many British people support the value of sharing. What I need, a touring cycle, bicycle repair outfit, equipment for touring on a bike (ex bags, lights, etc), hub dynamos, rain clothes, and anything else you are really sure that I would be dead if I don’t have :) I want to make a contribution to sharing society in which people can travel without money worries. And I believe that there are many British people who support sharing rather than possession, challenge rather than acceptance, and alternative rather than giving-up.
