Hi Yogis, Summer is here and with it, shifts and changes occur. Some we cherish and some are challenging. Such is life. As many of you have heard, I have recently received a Thyroid Cancer diagnosis. While shocking, it is very treatable and the prognosis is good. But as with all things, there have been difficult moments and heart opening moments. Ive discovered that our practice prepares us for times like this. The ability that Ive cultivated over the years to pause before reacting, and to stay in the moment have been a huge help during this process. This has been a wake up to your life experience. Ive learned a few things that Id like to share: -Ive learned that even in our darkest moments we can find grace. -Ive learned that I cherish living, breathing, and being alive. I want to feel more, see more, experience more and not take one second of it for granted. -I feel closer to my Source/God and feel him in my soul like never before. -Ive learned that Im not afraid. -Ive discovered that I have a lot more love to give and share. -I found out that so many friends, family and our community love and support me more than I could ever have imagined! Your kind words and gestures have left me breathless with gratitude. The lessons just keep on coming. And I welcome them. They are the silver lining in this difficult time. I will be teaching and seeing you all for the next few weeks before surgery and treatment. Hugs are welcome and provide a strength that carries me through the scary times, so dont be shy. Seeing you all and teaching is healing, so I plan to be back to work and my practice as soon as possible after treatment, hopefully by summers end. Much love and peace to you all, Shawn
