Hi Zane,after a 2 year relationship with my fiance,I had a hard time getting over him...so I tried online dating. I started dating this guy on and off since 2011...I ignored the signs and fell in love with him...Weve been on a rollercoaster ride so I prayed for a sign...I ended up being at the right place at the right time because I saw on the news that he was arrested for impersonating a cop...He turned himself in and told authorities that he was trying to impress his girlfriend...should I think he is refering to me because I am sure I wasnt the only 1.I havent stopped laughing because I am still in shock...I am frankly overwhelmed....He lied about being cop this whole time and ive been busy with school and work so I never really had time to verify...didnt think I needed too...how do I move forward???? I have no trust in men. MY RESPONSE: Be glad that you dodged a bullet, no pun intended. A lot of people become someone else online and if you have been dealing with him since 2011, I am trying to figure out why it was not obvious that he was not a cop. Did you never speak to him while he was on duty? Did you ever go to his house and did he have uniforms, a badge and a gun? I have dated several police officers in my lifetime. For some reason, men in uniforms dig me-LOL Anyway, it should have been obvious. With that being said and not dragging on that, what he did does not mean that you can never trust any other men. You simply need to make sure that you know who you are dealing with and if you spend quality time with a person, you would know such things. Take a break from men but giving up on men only guarantees loneliness with a side order of bitterness and that is not a good look.
