Hi all! A few quick notes: Thank you to those who have texted, emailed, called or left messages about my father in law, Steve. Your kind words have been appreciated. I am not able to always respond because much of the time I dont have the emotional capacity for it, and sometimes Im just busy running errands, taking care of my family or Im at the hospital. Please dont be offended if I dont respond. I promise that I post on here when there are updates, so if you havent seen anything from me, there is no new information. Steve is slowly doing better. He had a tracheotomy this afternoon, so no more of the awful breathing tube down his throat. This will make it easier for him to breathe, decrease the risk of infection, enable him to speak to us, and is also easier to wean from. He has been more alert the last two days, is responding, nodding his head and opening his eyes. We are all SO RELIEVED to see those baby blue eyes of his! The doctors STILL arent sure exactly what is wrong with him, but they do believe that he is on the road to recovery. He will probably be moved in a few weeks from St. Joes to a facility that specialized in weaning patients off the trach. After that, he will begin intense physical therapy in hopes of restoring his muscle strength and movement. I am still slowly but surely working through my edits. I am so appreciative to my clients who are patiently waiting on their (overdue) photos. I promise Ill get them to you just as soon as I can. My website appears to be down. My amazing tech repair guy (my husband) hasnt had time to fix it due to his dad being in the hospital, so for now, if you need to view your albums, you can go to clients.sarahalstonphotography. Sorry for the inconvenience...just add it to the list of stuff thats been put on the back-burner since Steve fell ill. We have been blessed by so many friends with their support and care. The most recent thanks goes out to Jesse Phillips for her help with cleaning my house, doing laundry, doing dishes, dog care, and constant support. I swear, she spends more time at my house picking up than she does at her OWN house. Thanks to Sarah Strain for her listening ear and her willingness to listen to me whine or cry or whatever. Thanks to Daisy King for your amazing taco soup and homemade cookies. Thanks to Lacey Jeffries for your daily pick-me-up texts, and to Brandon Jeffries for your support of my husband. And, as always, thanks to Chrys Jared-Bjornson for taking such AMAZING care of my kids during this whole thing. My kids tell me daily how grateful they are for you and Mike. Ill keep you updated with new info as I get it. Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers.
