Hi all! A little proud parent share here... Our daughter, Paolina - TopicsExpress

Hi all! A little proud parent share here... Our daughter, Paolina won this presidential academics award below at her 8th grade graduation, stamp-signed by President Obama himself. But much more important than the award, we hope you might find time to check out the video link below of her participation in her schools oration competition, which helped her win this award from the White House. The challenging subject of fracking was her chosen topic, which should be in the forefront of all of our minds right now, because the dangerous natural gas drilling process has been evidenced by many reputable scientists to have caused the uncommon earth quake in Ohio, and as well possibly the more recent quake in Los Angeles. Other experts link the severe drought situation in Southern California to fracking because drilling/fracking a single well requires millions of gallons of fresh water, and fracking in California has been going on for years, and atop active quake fault lines, hard to believe but true, google it. Tens of thousands of wells were planned for New York as of last year. The moratorium on this controversial process continues in many States but the struggle for the adequate research as to whether it is environmentally safe is continuous. We just figure everyone should own this information so as to be in the know. Incidentally, France officially made fracking illegal across the board last year, denying drilling rights to any and all foreign corporate interests. Smart... theyll just buy natural gas from other countries who are willing to compromise their environmental safety while keeping the integrity of theirs perfectly intact. No doubt Paolina could have argued for or against her chosen topic of Fracking with equal aplomb, but because of the environmental concerns, she chose against. We are all for an oil independent America, I know I am, but at what cost? Amazingly, there are still many people who have never heard of fracking. For those of you willing to watch the video, Ill be posting it in a few. Rest assured that because she included in her presentation, the powerful video, Artists Against Fracking, created by environmental activists, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, and actress Susan Sarandon, the 12 minute video will not be a waste of anyones time. Thanks for reading everybody! We hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend! Peace and Love
