Hi all, Graces Mom here :) Quick Care Bear update... The good news is, she is eating again. Yesterday she ate a total of 1.5 ounces of Tuna and 2 ounces of dry food. Not as much as I’d like yet, but we’re getting there! Today I gave her Wellness brand salmon slices and she ate some, so I didn’t give tuna. I’d really like her back on good cat food. I also left 1.5 ounces dry food for her. I need to find some Nutrical to supplement while she’s not eating well. The vet called with a few ideas as far as what could be causing this issue. The first, and what we’re hoping is that it’s anesthesia related, which can happen up to 2 weeks afterward. The second is that it’s chirrosis of the liver, caused by her liver disease. The third, and what we’re praying it’s NOT, is an enlarged heart or cancer. The plan is to see what happens over the next week and go from there. If she isn’t eating normally by next Monday, we will consider doing an ultrasound of the liver and xrays of the heart and lungs to screen for enlarged heart and cancer. Praying hard we don’t need to go there!
