Hi all! I am posting to inform you of a major project on S. Oyster Bay Road that will lead to the scheduled demolition of over 180+ trees lining the thoroughfare beginning at Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, and ending all the way at the railroad tracks in Bethpage, affecting Plainview and Hicksville too. Close to 40 healthy, 50+ trees in Syosset by the Northern State and south have already been destroyed, I implore you to drive there and see the level of destruction. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review and sign our Petition (with 450 signatures in 4 days!) asking the Nassau County Department of Public Works to cease the demolition of these healthy trees, meaningfully inform and involve the public, and explore other avenues that can address sidewalk repair and tree preservation simultaneously.
