Hi all, I feel I have to put my own feelings down about The - TopicsExpress

Hi all, I feel I have to put my own feelings down about The Whitby Rail Link group and site. Whilst I support the notion of Whitby via Pickering and Malton to York I also personally am looking at the other possibilities that are available purely to be able to make 100% informed decision. That is why I opened boards on the forum for people to discuss the alternatives and the pros and cons of all routes in the relevant sections. Having returned home from work, and it was pretty much a horrendous day, and reading through all the posts I feel quite upset at the general tone of some of the post/conversations. Whilst I have been able to add people to the group on my phone, I cannot spend time reading the post at work, after all I get paid to work. While I am happy to run the website creating, updating and designing pages and admin the forum, I am going to step back from the FB group but not leave it, just avoid commenting unless about website updates. This is NOT because of any one individual nor am I being forced to, it is a health issue that has made me decide it. I am happy to support the group via the website and forum and I am happy to run the forum (if anyone posts other than myself). My personal view of the linking of Whitby and York is in order of preference 1. Via Rillington Junction provided all parties are happy with the costs, operations, decisions. 2. Via Battersby and Picton provided groups like NYMR, Esk Valley Users Group, Network Rail and Northern Rail are in agreement. 3. Whitby to Scarborough. 4. My own personal favourite (if as a fantasy only) is via the coast, Kettleness and Redcar, (long live the WRMUR ha ha) If anyone wishes to contact me regarding Whitby Rail Links I am happy to respond on the topic and you are welcome to contribute to the forum or the website. Contact me through PM here or the forum. If I am at work I can always pick up messages when I get home and reply then. Please DO NOT think I am siding with any individual, company or train of thought (pardon the pun) I am NOT. I am simply realising that I have to watch my health a bit more carefully and would rather continue to be part of the improvement of Whitbys connection to the rest of the country rather than walk away completely from what I believe to be positive action toward the growth of the town. Thank you for reading. Neil.
