Hi all, I just want to make you all aware of an experience my partner and I had the other day in the fone fone shop at the bottom of Pemberton on ormskirk road in Wigan. It started just over a week ago when we bought an iPhone 5 charger from the shop. Within a week the charger fell to bits and had exposed wires coming out of it. The charging chip also snapped off and was stuck inside the iPhone. This could have damaged my phone/iPad and either electrocuted someone or caused a fire. We took the charging cable back to the store in hope of a replacement or a refund. We were very polite and to be honest didnt expect much of an outcome. But for the safety of others who could buy it and my partners child who uses the charger we thought we should inform him incase its a dodgy batch. Instantly the owner of the store was aggressive towards us and demanded he would not give us a refund or replace the item as it didnt look that way when he sold it to us a week ago. Now to me, its obvious it wouldnt look that way when he sold it. As clearly we wouldnt walk out of a shop with a charger thats falling to bits. Our point is that clearly there is a fault with the product as it shouldnt break like that in just a week. It is also a dangerous product. To that he said it is our fault for buying the charger in the first place! We said that we came into the shop polite and merely expected the customer service any other place would offer. We made the point that if any other shop would either try to rectify the situation or look into the issue thats caused this problem which could potentially mean a product recall if its unsafe! We informed him we would be notifying trading standards and watch dog. He then started to be aggressive and shouting at us to do it. We continued to argue with the man (video recorded on our phone) at which point he tried to get us to leave the store. We refused to leave until something was done. He told us to F off (censored) and put his head phones in. The man was very abusive, aggressive, arrogant and rude towards us and we were arguing back to him in turn because he would not listen to our points. It was clear to us that he knew the products were faulty because he said Well its your fault for buying it this man clearly didnt care about the safety of others and just wanted the money. He then went into the back of the store after telling us again to get out. He would not respond to me trying to talk to him politely again. So at this point I opened the gate to enter the back part of the store. I had no attention of entering but I knew it would get his attention-which it did. The man continued to go through a cycle of ignoring us and then screaming at us. 45 minutes later we were still refusing to leave the store. Eventually we decided to leave and I informed the man that I would make every effort to take him down. So here I am. It is not about the money, it is the principle. You dont expect to buy hazardous products from shops and he clearly doesnt care about selling faulty goods. Please spread the word and do not use this shop. Thank you.
