Hi all, I volunteered at sos Sri lanka for a number of months recently. I have worked in different shelters in Asia. I have to say that the work I saw here was outstanding & a great experience for me. I have seen many many dogs put to sleep in shelters when staff do not really give the animal a fighting chance. Even dogs with mange, distemper etc were almost automatically put to sleep. From my stand point initially I confess I did question the money & manpower being put in to so many "no hope" animals. Well... my mind has totally changed & I believe that the work the staff & volunteers do is extraordinary. Perhaps to reinforce my change of heart happened on my last day there when Lucky a seemingly paralysed dog STOOD UP !!!! Amazing. All I can say is it was great to be with SOS & wish you all the very best. I will return to see you all soon Cheers, Andrea
