Hi all. Im making a wire feather… and Im looking for a gemstone, or any other suitable adornment that can be placed along the stem. As you can see, my first feather is made with relatively thick wire… Im just starting my second feather now… And Ive decided to make two halves… Which I will then try to bind together…Perhaps with the help of a welder. I visited the Roy Henry Vickers Museum, and I was inspired by how he made his wood feathers with a long, thin semi-precious stone along the centre of it. Obviously wire and wood are two entirely separate elements.. But I thought putting something along the stem would make it really stand out. I believe Id need something long, and thinner than a pencil… Does anyone have any ideas?
