Hi all! Looking for some friendly advice regarding my TB gelding. Ive noticed recently hes become really itch on his stomach, bum and top of his hind legs recently. Whenever I take his rugs off he takes every opportunity to have a good itch. Also whenever Im grooming those areas he tenses up and bends in my direction, often lifting his tail and twitching his lip! All sounds fairly normal I know but its only been recently that hes enjoyed being itched there, he doesnt seem as though hes in pain just incredibly itchy. Within the last week or so theres been red (some bleeding) sores and hair loss in certain areas. Again it doesnt hurt him, just curious to know how I can help ( Ive tried sudocreme on the wounds - no joy), if it persists I intend to get the vet out soon as hes just desperate to itch he almost falls over and it appears uncomfortable. Thanks!!
