Hi all! Weve been working on a solution for our site but still have a few points were not clear on that I was hoping you could help clarify... 1) Do we have to validate a companys VAT number, or just trust that the number they give us existing? If we do need to validate, can anyone suggest a good way to do that? 2) We are planning to identify EU location based on IP and billing address. I understand if these two match were good to go. If one does not match however we are currently throwing an error. How are others dealing with this? Im weary of asking for too much information from the customer as it can impact on sales. 3) Similar to above, we are planning to identify non-EU customers based on IP and billing address. But what would happen if we get a non-EU IP address with an EU billing address? i.e. do we have to prove its a non-EU customer to the same exacting standard (two non conflicting pieces of evidence) that we have to prove it is an EU customer in the correct EU country?
