Hi all, a few things today. I know it is a long update but please read it and heed the warning - we dont ever approach days like today lightly. Today has been declared a day of total fire been for the entire state of Victoria. For what this means visit: cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/can/ A severe fire weather warning has been issued. Please read it: bom.gov.au/vic/warnings/fire.shtml With todays predicted temperatures (now around 40 for our area!) You need to be activating your fire plan NOW. If you are leaving, leave soon. If you are staying, be prepared and look after yourself and your neighbors. Even in town you are at risk. Visit: cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/ for more information. Todays fire danger rating for our district is Extreme. Expect extremely hot, dry and windy conditions. If a fire starts and takes hold, it will be uncontrollable, unpredictable and fast moving. Spot fires will start, move quickly and come from many directions. and resources will be stretched - so please dont expect a fire truck for every doorstep! Last but not least, please DO NOT rely on this page for any information. This page is run by Mount Evelyn CFA Volunteers who also work on the fire trucks, so we may not be in a position to update it.
