Hi all, as you may or may not know my dear dad Andrew Waldock had a massive open heart op yesterday morning where he had a bovine Aortic valve replacement, about 2 inches of his aortic root replaced with a skin graft and had a heart bypass at the same time and a few of us daughters went to see him for the first time today. He got woken up very briefly yesterday evening but the ventilator wasnt removed until a bit later, then this morning he got moved from intensive care to the high dependency ward where we visited today. He was awake but drugged upto his eyeballs (he was mooing a lot 😂) and is still in a lot of pain. Hes now had his chest drains removed and the nurses have had him out of bed and stood up briefly before sitting him in his chair. Frightening seeing my old man so poorly but it can only get better from here. A lot of love to my sisters and my mum and a special thank you to Ell Howard whos been my absolute rock.
