Hi all, relative newbie here, so please go easy. Simple, straight answers would be appreciated and I apologise if I screw up my explanation. I understand that when atheists ask questions of Christianity and receive the answer Have faith its annoying. That makes complete sense to me. As true as it may be, it makes no practical sense to an atheist. On the other hand though, I am asked to prove Gods existence by atheists and to do so I must prove a supernatural occurrence as anything else is explainable by science/nature. I attempt to do this by pointing to a miracle that Ive witnessed. I am always met with immediate incredulity and then after many attempts to discredit the claim (witnesses, significance, bias etc) the eventual retort is inevitably Well science will explain it in time. I feel this is at least an equally frustrating response if not more so. The logic seems to be Everything is explainable by science. Show me something that is supernatural. Since everything is explainable by science what you have shown me is not supernatural. It literally seems to be the exact same answer as Have faith in an atheist version. I suppose my questions are 1. Is there something Im missing in my train of thought? 2. Is there any way for me to prove a miracle? Sorry for the long read and the roundabout explanation, Im not very good at this really. Again, please go easy on me, I will probably merely observe the comments rather than participate in discussion. Thanks in advance.
