Hi all, today I got a formal offer for a job in Canberra, so I will be moving from Brisbane to Canberra in mid-January. I am filled with feels. Brisbane has been so good to me. Adam Stones campaign - the initial reason to move here - was an exciting challenge, and he would have made an excellent MP (and an even better Senator). Working for Larissa Waters was an honour and privilege, and an amazing learning experience. Moving away from Brisbane means I wont get to vote for her in 2016 😕. The biggest impact that Brisbane had on my life can be summed up in three letters: BCR. I would not be the person I am today without BCR. Ive met excellent people in BCR and in the wider Brisbane roller derby community, and done excellent things with them. Ive made life-long best friends. So Im sad to leave Brisbane. On the other hand, I know so many excellent folks in Canberra who I am excited to have in my life in a more co-located manner again. I also have a stressful month of logistics coming up. I will probably spend the next few weeks clogging your feed with furniture for sale, looking for housemates and asking questions about Canberra.
